David Swift MMedSci MCSP

David graduated from the Sheffield City Polytechnic School of Physiotherapy in 1984. He went on to work in a number of local hospitals including Rotherham General Hospital and Firbeck Rehabilitation Unit.

David taught at the Pinderfields School of Physiotherapy for approximately 5 years before returning to treat patients in both the NHS and private sectors.
In 1997 he graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Master of Medical Science degree in Sport and Exercise Science.

Alongside his “day job” David has worked extensively with sports men and women from the weekend warrior to elite level in a wide variety of sports. He has worked with professional Rugby League teams; Professional Basketball Teams including the Senior England Men’s team; Professional and Semi-professional football teams including a spell as Head Physio to a Premier League football club and Professional Rugby Union with Rotherham Titans. He also has experience of working with a National Ballet Company treating professional ballet dancers.

Prior to establishing the Swift Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre he spent 10 years working as a physio in Rotherham in private practice at the Rotherham Physiotherapy Centre.  David has a wide variety of clinical interests and looks forward to welcoming patients old and new to the Swift Physiotherapy and Wellness Centre.


Neil Swift BSc (Hons) MCSP

Neil graduated from Huddersfield University School of Physiotherapy in 2008 with a First class honours degree. He has since then worked in the NHS gaining a rounded experience. For the last few years he has been a senior physiotherapist working with patients with orthopaedic/musculoskeletal problems. Neil has a particular interest in manual therapy and has successfully completed a number of courses in this field including the Maitland level one course.

Neil has experience of working with professional rugby union players in the treatment room and has undertaken on the pitch rehabilitation. He has been the physiotherapist on touch-line for Rotherham Titans on many occasions.

Neil has also some spent some time treating patients in private practice at the Rotherham Physiotherapy Centre. Outside of work when not treating rugby players Neil plays for the Sheffield Oaks rugby union team and enjoys watching Burnley Football Club. Any resemblance between Neil and David is purely genetic!


Carolyn Clay MCSP

Carolyn Clay belongs to The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and has been practicing since 1991. She has worked in Canada and for the NHS based at Rotherham Hospital and served on numerous committees at both regional and national level. Carolyn is committed to continued professional development so as to provide the most effective assessment for each individual patient that attends the clinic. Carolyn is one of the practitioners at the centre who practises acupuncture.

She is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Football Rehabilitation at the Edge Hill University and has a keen interest in grass roots football at junior level and is a qualified football coach.


Kerry Brooksbank, Massage Therapist

Kerry began her massage career in 1998 whilst travelling and working in Asia. She initially qualified in Thailand under the International Society of Traditional Thai Yoga Massage and later with the Wat Po Traditional Medical School, both highly respected institutions, recognised internationally. In 2001 whilst in the UK Kerry qualified in Swedish Massage and Anatomy & Physiology with the APNT. Kerry has run a clinical practice in Rotherham since 2000.

Kerry’s professional development is continuous and she now practices both in England and Asia. In addition to her private practice she also teaches massage and runs a company in South Yorkshire treating clients with physical and learning disabilities.

Her passion for massage and gaining knowledge of the body has led her to combine both Eastern and Western techniques taking the most effective bodywork and tailoring it to the clients’ requirements. The result is a powerful treatment where you receive exactly what you need.


Debbie Poole, Pilates Teacher

Debbie Poole has been teaching Pilates for over 10 years. She graduated in May 2002 with the Body Control Pilates Association and meets the national standard of a “Level 3 Pilates Teacher. This standard is endorsed by SkillsActive and the Register of Exercise Professionals and is recognized by the European Health and Fitness Association. Debbie has previously been teaching Pilates in Gran Canaria and came back to England to teach in 2006 where she worked alongside a small group of physiotherapists at Balance Physiotherapy & Pilates Studio for over 5 years. She mainly specializes in using Pilates to help people to cope with or improve back, hip, shoulder and neck pain but also runs advanced Pilates classes utilizing small equipment as well as Ante and Post Natal Classes.

Debbie is renowned for her high standard of teaching, her attention to detail and the ability to adapt exercises to the needs of the individual.  She teaches privately and also in small groups so as to maintain a high level of supervision and tuition. Debbie is also a qualified Reiki practitioner and TRCD therapist and has recently become a Nu Skin Distributor.
